Just back from my first RWA meeting in New York--and my first trip to NYC in general--and it was an amazing time! So much to learn from everyone...all the workshops and presentations, meeting with my lovely editor, agent, and publicist (who happen to be--IMHO--the best team I could have ever hoped to work with...if I'm successful at this writing thing, it's due to them), cocktail party at Grand Central Forever, tea with Nany Yost Literary Agency, and just simply meeting and talking to all the hard-working writers there. Had my first-ever book signing, and man, was I terrified! But everyone was so very sweet and nice, and I had the most wonderful time. The biggest take-away from the conference--I *must* get more exercise. It is far too easy to sit in the chair all day and work on writing, and if I'm going to make this a long-term career, then I need to start working out NOW. Walking around NYC proved to me how important it is to stay healthy...and I thoroughly enjoyed the city! (Go see Something Rotten! if you have the chance--it's a MUSICAL MUSICAL! (you'll understand when you see it. ;) ).
